Jordi Parramon
Theory, Composition
Jordi Parramon was born in Santa Coloma in the year 1959. He started his musical studies at the Center for Musical Studies in Barcelona and at the Conservatories of Barcelona and Badalona. He studied vocal technique with Carme Tulon, harmony with Benet Casablancas and Juan Luis Milán, and piano with David Padrós, choir conducting with Manuel Cabero and Orchestra conducting with Juan José Olives. He has collaborated in different publications writing about contemporary music (GRAMA, Montsalvat, EL MUNDO, GRAN ENCICLOPEDIA CATALANA DE LA MÚSICA). As choir director he has directed the choral groups of different centers (School of Music of Santa Coloma, Luthier School of Barcelona) and also the choir La Espirall de Santa Coloma or Dido and Aeneas de Mataró. He created and directed an instrumental group (GIGA) with which he premiered works by V. Solé, F. Taverna-Bech and J. Soler. He currently works teaching theoretical subjects (Musical Language, History, Harmony, Forms). He is also a professor at the Senior University of CDL (College of teachers and culture professionals). He has composed for guitar, piano, different chamber ensembles and choral music.
