Beatriz Cambrils
Born in Peñíscola, she began her studies with Juanjo Villarroya and continued at the Conservatorio Superior Municipal de Barcelona, finishing her degree with honors (Premio de Honor final de carrera). Later on, she did further studies with Magdalena Martínez. A winner in several competitions, she took second prize in the IX Flute Competition in Getxo, second prize in the Chamber Music Competition in Vinarós with Lluís Valls, third prize in the II Performers' Contest de Benicarló and a special mention (accésit) in the National Young Performers' Competition in Xátiva. She has performed as a soloist with the Orquesta Internacional de Peñíscola and she premiered a work by Caspar Diethelm ,"Aura Vernalis," with the Engelberg Chamber Orchestra. She has also collaborated with the Andorra Chamber Orchestra and has been a member of the Catalonian National Youth Orchestra "Jove Orquestra Nacional de Catalunya" (JONC). She has attended Master Classes with Pierre-Yves Artaud, Sophie Cherrier, Jaime Martin, Vicens Prats y Marieke Schneemann. She taught flute at the Conservatorio Superior Municipal de Barcelona from 1998 to 2000, at the Conservatorio Profesional de Sabadell  and at the "Escola Superior de Musica de Catalunya" (ESMUC) during the 2006-07 school year. She is currently a faculty member at the Luthier School of Music in Barcelona. She was principal flute of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y Leon from 2001 to 2003. Since 2003, she holds the position of second flute in the Orquestra Simfonica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya (OBC). She was acting assistant principal flute in the OBC from 2006 until 2010.
