Ailen Lazo Martín
Born in San Nicolás de Bari, Havana, Ailen Lazo is a saxophonist who is passionate about her instrument. Throughout her career she has been able to experience a variety of influences, which make her a contemporary and versatile instrumentalist in all musical languages in which the saxophone is present. She received the Higher Degree at the Superior School of Music of Catalonia, where she attended to classes with Professor Nacho Gascón. She is currently doing the Master of Advanced Studies in Interpretation at this center. She has played in different musical groups, among which she highlights the Esmuc Symphony Orchestra, BCN2016, the Barcelona Municipal Band, the Orchestra of the Gran Teatro del Liceu and the Laussane Chamber Orchestra, with which she collaborated in a concert with the pianist Chick Korea. As a soloist, she has also collaborated with the Holguín and Camagüey Symphony Orchestras in Cuba. She currently combines her pedagogical activity with a concert agenda, including a contemporary duo with percussionist Daniel Munarriz, with whom she has premiered three works in the concert cycles of L'Auditori de Barcelona.
